Spherix is almost here: simulation for 3D tissue engineering, in a browser tab.

Our first product is soon to be deployed. Here is what Spherix does, who it is for, what it does not claim, and how to ask for early access.

What Spherix is

Spherix is browser based simulation software for 3D tissue engineering. Its first module predicts how oxygen reaches the cells inside a spheroid, and where cells become starved of oxygen or die. Researchers use it to test spheroid designs on screen before spending days or weeks growing them at the bench.

A small demo with simplified physics. It is not Spherix output and not a prediction.

What you do with it

  • Choose a cell type. The flagship is a dermal fibroblast model built on measured oxygen consumption and cell density for that cell type.
  • Set the spheroid diameter from 100 to 600 µm, the oxygen level, such as 5% physiological oxygen or 21% incubator air, and the culture time from 12 to 240 hours.
  • Move the sliders for an instant estimate, with a live 3D spheroid that adds or removes cells as the size changes. Then run a full simulation that follows every cell.
  • Review the results and download a report of about 9 pages, designed to be sent to collaborators or reviewers as it is.

Who it is for

Academic tissue engineering and organoid labs. Small and mid size biotechs working on 3D cell culture, scaffolds or cell therapy manufacturing. Teams that cannot afford enterprise simulation software, or do not have computational staff to run open source simulators.

How it fits with how we build

Burgeon Studio is an AI native software company: AI is our default tool, and quantum methods are added only where a problem outgrows what AI can handle. Spherix is a different kind of product. It simulates physics, cell by cell, with a classical agent based engine built on PhysiCell1, and it makes no AI or quantum claim about its results.

Where it runs

Spherix runs in the cloud over HTTPS. Labs that need their data to stay in house can run it on their own server.

What it does not claim

The dermal fibroblast model is data anchored and awaiting direct validation. Spherix is a decision support tool, not a replacement for experiments, and it is for research use only. This version models oxygen. It does not model vascularisation, drug testing or other nutrients.

How to join early access

Spherix is soon to be deployed. Early access is by contacting the team through the contact form. Tell us about your spheroid work and what you would like to test.
